“I must have been a Nakasendo pilgrim in a past life.”

Posted onCategoriesUncategorized

I’ve fallen in love with walking Japan’s ancient routes—starting with the Nakasendo, the historic road that once connected Kyoto and Edo through the mountains.
There’s something magical about these journeys: the chance encounters, the shared smiles, and the unforgettable cultural and culinary experiences. Every time I reflect on them, I feel a warmth in my heart—and an irresistible urge to close my laptop, lace up my hiking boots, shoulder my backpack, and hit the trail once more.
I’m honored to have shared part of this journey in the Nakasendo issue of the Hike and Bike Japan travel guide. Thank you to “Meets Nakasendo” (Hisashi Miyata) and Papersky Books for the invitation. Dear network, I’d be happy to have you walk alongside me on the next adventure.
